1st – Mrs. IrvingDecorated Toy and Treasure Chest with Games IncludedThis project strives to portray the essential aspects of Mrs. Irving's first grade class this past school year: a wonderful combination of learning, creativity and play. The main theme (insects) was chosen because a significant part of their science class with Mrs. Williams involved studying various bugs: ants, grasshoppers, ladybugs, bees and butterflies. Each insect is made from a student's fingerprint(s). Mrs. Irving's fingerprints created the tree as she has been blessed with a special gift to begin the process of deeply rooting our precious children in wisdom and knowledge. In addition, inside the chest you will find each student's handprint in a different color — a reminder to us of the wonderful rainbow of personalities found in the class. Finally, each game has been selected by one or more of the students as his/her favorite for we mustn't forget that childhood should include plenty of fun. “Children are a gift of the Lord,“ (Psalm 127:3b).
