When the school was first founded, people didn't quite know what to think of us, but soon we won them over with our respect for manners and with our high test scores.

Just a few years after we were founded, our school gave a presentation in front of Newt Gingrich.

During the 1990s, there was a scare over school security and discipline, and so people began taking a second look at Foundations. They realized that we do not just fill young heads with facts, but also train their hearts and hands to respect and care for other people.

Parents who are new to classical education are always surprised at the level of discipline and committment we demand of our students, but we know that when teachers call a child to a higher standard, that student will flurish under such an expectation.

Part of the appeal of Foundations Academy is that we maintain a family atmosphere. So when a student recently was diagnosed with cancer, having to begin chemotherapy, the whole school stood up to encourage her.
